Adorn Your Roof with Lights this Holiday Season

The bird has been carved; the shopping is done. You made a pledge to yourself many years ago that you’d never decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving. And now it’s time.

Time for what, you ask? Time to decorate your roof!

But how?

The options are many, and the choices can seem daunting, but fear not, Style Roofing is here to demystify your choices, to help ensure you have the most stylish roof on the block.

White LED Lights

The most popular choice for roofs across the country, clear C9 Christmas lights feature bulbs large enough to be clearly seen from the road. When you choose to decorate with white LED lights, your home will emanate an elegant glow for years to come.

Candy Cane Roof Lights

If you’re in the spirit to be a little more creative, use red and white LED bulbs, or red and clear incandescent lights in an alternating pattern for a candy cane effect.

Red and Green Roof Lights

Red, and green. Red, and green. (Sung to the tune of “Silver and Gold,” of course.) Red and green bulbs that line the windows and your roof add a festive touch to the neighborhood; your neighbors will be jealous.

Colorful Lights

Who says you need to stick to one, or two colors? Multicolored C9 lights make a big impression when you use them to line the eaves of your home. Use colored LED lights to fashion retro or visually appealing designs, in single, double, or triple color pattern sequence.

Themed Lights

Blue and white lights say to the neighborhood, “Happy Hannukah!” Customize strings of multicolored C9 bulbs to celebrate your favorite sports team, or even just your favorite colors.

Traditional Icicle Lights

Strands of long and short drops vary in length up to 24 inches. Warm or cool LED lights of this type shine and glisten when they hang from your roofline. Bonus: They’re much safer to look at than actual icicles on the roof.

Christmas Icicle Lights

Still just as safe, and now in color!

Add snowflake-shaped bulbs to your roof for the look of a real winter wonderland.

Things to Consider

LED lights should be chosen over incandescent bulbs. Not only are they the most economical option, but you can also string more LED light strings together than you can incandescent strings. That means fewer extension cords.

Set your Christmas (or Hanukkah) lights on a timer; that way, you don’t have to worry about remembering to flip the OFF switch.

Happy decorating!
